The User Interface for TAG Vehicle Tracking has typical Windows menu structure,
and a set of action buttons down the left-hand side of the screen. The main
area uses a multiple-document interface style (MDI) which can contain a map
window for vehicle tracking, and a number of reporting windows for different
aspects of vehicle history.

In the map window, the large map shows a wide view of a geographical region.
This can be zoomed using the slider in the bottom right-hand corner of the map
window:

By sliding the pointer to the left, the map is zoomed in to greater detail;
to the right, zoomed out to show a wider area. The map window also has the conventional
scroll bars, which allow you to move the map to centre the area of most interest.
Another way to scroll the map is by using the mouse - using the left button,
click and drag to indicate a rectangular area, then click within the rectangle;
this rectangle is used to set the area to be displayed in the map window, causing
the map to be zoomed to give the best fit to that rectangle.
If you right-click a location on the map, a pop-up menu appears:

The first option - Centre - causes the map to be re-centred on the location
you clicked.
The second option - Centre + Zoom - leads to a sub-menu from which you can
choose a zoom level in the range 0 - 10, corresponding to the tick marks on
the zoom slider on the map window. Zoom level 0 gives the closest detail, while
level 10 gives the widest area. When you choose a level, the map is both zoomed
to this level and re-centred on the point you clicked.
The third option - Define Location - enables you to mark a point on the map
which is of some significance to you, such as a client site. You can specify
a name for the location, and a proximity radius:

Any location defined in this way is stored in the database, is displayed on
the map when it is within the bounds of the current view, and is displayed in
tracking reports when a vehicle is detected as being within the proximity radius
you specified.
If you have zoomed in to a small area, the map might look like this:

When you mark a location (User-Defined Location or UDL), it would then look
like this:

You can click on any point on the map to get details of the location clicked.
For instance, by clicking on the 'Saint Albans Road' in this map, you would
get a display like this:

If you click on the User-Defined Location on the map, you get a similar popup
showing the UDL details:

The exact content of both the Location Information and the User-defined Location
popups depends on the geographical information stored in the map database, and
will vary according to the geographical feature at the location clicked.
