- The yellow LED (GPS) on the FALCOM STEPP device does not flash.
You have to check the following points:
a) White lead = Permanent live
b) Brown lead = Permanent negative
c) Yellow lead = ignition-controlled live
d) Green lead NOT TO BE CONNECTED on Stepp2 units
e) Check if the both antennas (GPS and GSM) are properly connected.
f) Use only 3 V active GPS antenna
f) The GPS reception requires a good view to satellites.
- The green LED (GSM) on the FALCOM STEPP device is not ON.
Please check the below two points:
a) Check if the supply tension Vin has the specified value (10,8 ... 32 V DC).
b) Connect the GND (brown cable) with (-).
- The green LED (GSM) on the FALCOM STEPP device does not flash.
This behaviour has several causes:
a) A valid SIM card has not been inserted into the device. Please insert a valid SIM card in the FALCOM STEPP device.
b) The GSM antenna is not or incorrectly connected. Check if the GSM antenna is connected to the FALCOM STEPP device properly.
c) No GSM field strength. Place the GSM antenna where a good GSM field strength is available.
- The yellow LED (GPS) flashes in 4 sec. interval.
This behaviour has several causes:
a) A valid SIM card hasn't been inserted in the STEPP device. Insert a valid SIM card in the STEPP device.
b) The start-up of the GSM engine in the STEPP device has detected an error. Power down the STEPP device and power it up again.
- My STEPP works properly in my country. If it crosses the border and enters another land, it would not be available any more.
Check if the SIM card in the STEPP unit has a roaming contract. Contact your network operator in this case.
